In 1976, I went to work for the US Navy as a contracting officer working in anti-submarine warfare. I took the Navy's Advanced Signal Processor, an acoustic signal processor, through advanced development and first production and saw it adopted in every ASW platform in the Navy from submarines to surface ships to aircraft.
