I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Communication at UCSB and lab manager for the Media Neuroscience Lab. Broadly speaking, my research explores human communication phenomena from neuroscientific and evolutionary perspectives. I am particularly interested in how neural networks related to attention and reward shape media enjoyment and how content features of media interact with individual differences to modulate these networks. Other areas of inquiry include how evolutionarily derived motivations shape media processing as well as the neural basis of persuasion and behavioral change. Before attending UCSB, I held several corporate research positions at companies such as Nissan North Ame
