Rita Rodrigues has Geographic Engineering degree from Faculdade de Ciências – Universidade de Lisboa (2002). Since August 2002 become member of the Centre for Volcanology and geological Hazards Evaluation (Azores University). In 2004 finished a Master of Science Degree in the field of Volcanology and Geological Hazards. Currently in involved in a PhD project (2008-2013), approved with distinction unanimously, in order to characterize the crustal deformation associated with the volcano-tectonic systems of Graciosa, Terceira and S. Jorge islands (Azores). Main research interests are Geodesy, SIG applications to Earth Sciences and natural hazards mitigation.
