Rona Zollinger grew up under the snow capped Wasatch Mountains of Northern Utah. It was under the presence of these Rocky Mountains and later the shores of the Pacific Ocean that she learned to seek wisdom from the places she lived. Her first job out of school seemed to be a one-way street to sure burnout fueled by overfilled classrooms, disengaged students, and long days. She set out to find a solution: “Is it possible to create education that is life giving to the teacher, students, community and earth?” Fifteen years later, Dr. Rona Zollinger is a co-founder of an award-winning Environmental Studies Academy and more recently, co-founder of New Leaf: A Sustainable Living Collaborat
