My 23-year credit union journey actually began in a bank's accounting department. I quickly advanced to learn teller line and cash operations, consumer and mortgage loan mortgage operations, and then internal auditing.
After my military husband was transferred overseas, I joined the U.S. Federal Civil Service's Accounting and Finance Department where I worked with foreign nationals and processed U.S. military members' paperwork as they deployed to/from assignments supporting the Iraq war.
