Sakari Karjalainen is the Secretary General of the Cancer Society of Finland since November 2011. He was until Nov 2011 the Director General of the Department of Education and Science Policy of the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland. He is MD, holds a docotorate in medical sciences (epidemiology) and is a Docent at the Tampere University.
