I am an Associate Professor in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, SS. Annunziata Hospital, “Gabriele d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy. I obtained my Medical Doctor degree (cum laude) in 1993 and the Graduation Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (cum laude) in 1998, both from the University of Bari, Italy. After my residency, I undertook a research fellowship and in 2003 I obtained a PhD in Respiratory Physiology (cum laude) at the Paris XII University.
