PhD in biochemistry at Wageningen University
My main subject was protein folding, misfolding of small globular proteins, focussed on alpha-beta parallel proteins.
In my current research I focus on membrane proteins. Trafficing of aquaporin is regulated by the felxible C-tail of the protein. Structural differences in this tail caused by phosphorylation or mutations (giving rise to disease in humans) change the route these proteins have in living cells.
