- 8. As a Helping Hand, volunteers gain experience working with young children in a variety of developmental stages. Helping Hands build relationships and create a positive impact in the life of a child. Shower our kiddos with LOVE. Become a Helping Hand. This requires attending at least 15 hours of free training each year in Early Childhood Education, as well as, setting a firm schedule of availability with the Little Learners' Childcare Manager. Helping Hands, a volunteer opportunity, takes passionate individuals interested in early childhood development & education and counts them as part of the teacher-child ratio in the classroom. Mentors have a positive and long-lasting impact on the life of one middle or high school student that attends Our Club, Our House's Youth Development Center.
