About
Saroopa Samaradivakara is currently reading for her PhD at Industrial Technology Institute (ITI), registered under the University of Colombo. She completed her M. Phil. research at Genetech, registered under the University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka in 2012. Before joining ITI, she worked as a Scientist in the Molecular Diagnostics section at Genetech for 5 years. She is also engaged in agricultural biotechnology related research work including DNA Barcoding projects of all species and capacity building work on Biosafety of transgenic crops. She has undergone training at the Smithsonian Institute, USA, in plant DNA barcoding.
