Selin Balci uses microorganisms as her medium. She creates a biological arena on the picture surface by using microorganisms’ color, form and texture. Constantly discovering and combining the scientific material and mediums, Balci applies an acute scientific laboratory practice to create her work. Conceptually, she references the fundamental, underlying social dilemmas and principles of our existence in an effort to understand and highlight social issues.
