Marylyn takes her son Bobby to the clinic after his stomach ache worsens. At the clinic, they have a long 2.5 hour wait due to many patients. Bobby is diagnosed with stomach flu by Doctor Ross. While relieved Bobby is feeling better, Marylyn complains about the long uncomfortable wait at the clinic and hopes she never has to return.
2. Monday Morning Marylyn wakes up just like every morning and
starts the day, but little bobby soon complains about a tummy
ache.
3. After about an hour, Bobbys condition worsens and he is
beginning to cry about his tummy.... Marylyn starts to get
worried that it is more that just a tummy ache.
4. After another half an hour it was time to load up the two kids
and head to the local clinic.
5. Upon arriving at the clinic it is clear that this was going to take a
while. Marylyn had a lot of stuff to do today and she knows that
it will not get done anymore.
6. Marylyn walks into the clinic and waits for the receptionist to get
off the phone. It takes a few minutes and when she gets off the
phone, the receptionist Jane points her in the direction of the
list and informs her it will be about a 2 hour wait.
7. Marylyn takes a seat and the two children head to the kids play
area. She hates it when they play in there because she knows
that it is a breeding ground for viruses, but with no other way to
keep the kids occupied she let them play. She starts to feel
uncomfortable in the full wait room and prays that her and little
Sally wont come out sick.
8. An hour had passed and the kids were starting to get restless
and hungry. The toys were no longer keeping them occupied
and marylyn knows that it there is still alot of time to wait. Every
once in a while the doctor peeks around the corner to check the
status of the room and brings patients back.
9. Doctor Ross is constantly busy throughout his day. It is
important for him to see as many patients as quick as possible.
He hates having disgruntled patients in the waiting room and
wishes there was a better way to manage her patient flow
through the establishment. No-one should have to wait for so
long in that horrid waiting room.
10. Finally marylyn gets in to see the doctor after two and a half
hours. She is agitated and the doctor assesses Bobby with a
stomach flu. He prescribes him with a common antidote and
after 10 min with the doctor Bobby and Sally are heading back
to the car, and then home.
11. While the family has dinner Marylyn complains to her husband
about the awful experience they had had at the clinic. He
comments that Bobby looks a lot better though and it makes
her feel like it was worth it, she just hopes that Sally wont come
down with anything for a long time. She would be very happy if
she never had to go back there again.
