I am interested in plant genetics, genomics and evolution. While working on my master's research, I have developed skills on Fluorescence in situ hybridization in plants and DNA based molecular biology works. I am proficient in Southern hybridization, DNA marker techniques, PCR, BACs and plasmid high quality DNA extraction. I have also worked with bioinformatics tools for comparative genomics and marker development in Pennisetum. I am capable of working with assembly, alignment and analysis of sequences and reads for genomic analyses. In my future endeavors I would like to develop more skills on quantitative genetics and genomics along with applied and field based experiences.
