S100 proteins known to transduce extracellular effects through a
common receptor: the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End Product (RAGE).
S100P is a homodimeric protein that belongs to the S100 protein family and known to
be involved in several cellular functions, such as calcium homeostasis, cell growth
and differentiation dynamics of cytoskeleton upon binding with RAGE. RAGE
induces cellular signaling upon binding with different ligands, such as S100 proteins,
glycated proteins, and HMGB1. Molecular level interactions of
RAGE and S100 proteins is useful to understand the RAGE signaling diversity and
