I was 22yo when during one of my classes at university I had the "vision" that brought me to turn a passion for a technology into a job: to integrate different disciplines into Geographic Information System (GIS)-based models to be applied in energy field.
My professional experience in energy industry as project designer of mini-hydro and biomass power plants gave me the possibility to learn how to address technical and engineering issues when planning power plants and assessing their economic feasibility.
This experience has been leveraged during my research career to build partnership with energy industry and to convince them to finance research projects.
