I had the rare privilege of creating and running a state of the art, additive manufacturing facility located inside Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The close work with surgeons and patients enabled me to fully understand the impact this technology can have on the provision of surgical care. Reductions in surgical time, blood loss, potential infection risk, and improvements in outcomes, were massive. This experience convinced me of the value this can provide to all facilities and surgical practices. I will be an advocate for the patient and the technology in my career as it moves forward.
