Life is good in Orlando with wife Karen and sons Danny (9) and Jason (8). Lots of baseball, beach, pool, hiking; we even have a good Ethiopian restaurant 15 minutes away. The commute to Africa every other month is tough but its nice to be able to keep my job at the World Agroforestry Centre, after spending 13 years in Kenya. I lead the Centre's research on tree product marketing and extension -- lots of time spent developing research proposals for funding, writing and reviewing journal articles, mentoring, and yep, administration. The best part is getting to visit farmers, which I try to do each time I go to Africa, to see how improved tree planting practices are helping improve their livel
