I have a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences from the University of San Diego (California, USA), as well as Master’s and a PhD degree in Marine Environment and Resources from the University of the Basque Country. During my doctoral studies, I specialized on the water quality assessment of coastal waters using ocean colour satellite imagery, and on the use of smart-phone camera images to measure the colour of natural waters and establish connections with water quality indicators, such as chlorophyll-a (phytoplankton biomass) and CDOM (coloured dissolved organic material).
I am currently working as a European Research Project technician at CIC biomaGUNE in San Sebastián (Spain).
