1) In what ways does my media
product use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real media
products?
I used many forms and conventions in my music video and ancillary
tasks. The main conventions I decided to use were action, excitement

relevant technology. For example, music videos were once called 'illustrated
song'. When YouTube became a main source for online videos, mainstream
artists promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the sit
for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been
converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market
themselves to their fans and audiences. Therefore I have put my own music video
on this platform.
One convention I didn't include was lip syncing. I wanted

if the narrator was the person singing. This can be found
on many other music videos such as Maroon 5¡¯s ¡®Maps¡¯

their partner. This was chosen as I wanted my music
video to be interpretive. My music video encourages the
audience to speculate as to the deeper meaning of the
song, by using narrative which is not listen literally from
the lyrics, and the bond between the two will not be
immediately obvious.
