Dabbs and Shelli McInnis want to open a bakery and lounge space in Springfield called The Sweet Spot. Shelli recently graduated from culinary school and will operate the bakery, specializing in healthier sweets. Dabbs has 30 years of DJ experience and will provide music for the adjacent lounge, which will host local artists. Their goal is to create a relaxing cultural space for the community to enjoy pastries, music, and events.

- 2. WHO WE ARE ? ? ? ? It started with a dream and worked into a reality. Wanting to create a beautiful space where someone could come, meet friends, go out on a date and listen to beautiful music while enjoying dessert. We met online and dates usually consisted of going to loud clubs where your head would be pounding and you could not hear anyone speak much less hear yourself. We would like to open a very relaxing cultural place that would meet the needs and wants of the community. Michelle “Shelli” is a recent graduate from culinary School and Dabbs has 30+ years running his own mobile DJ business. There is a wonderful space currently known as 9th and Main in Historic Springfield. My husband and I would love to bring this space back to wonderful space it once was.
- 3. THE SWEET SPOT ? The Sweet Spot will be a great bakery for all types of people to enjoy. Specializing in a healthier way to enjoy sweets, by serving some organic, gluten free and healthier items. The theory is that everyone deserves a little sweet. We will make pastries, cookies, pies, cakes, breads and such. We will be mindful of those patrons with dietary concerns without making that readily known to those without them so everyone will eat a little healthier

- 23. THE URBAN LOUNGE ? The Lounge will host student artists in urban music, poetry, spoken word, one person theatrical shows, clean comedy and book readings. Local artists will also be invited as well as DJ Dabbs playing great music. If the artists have CD’s or books to sell they will be permitted. The Lounge will also be a great space for wedding receptions, birthday parties, meetings etc.
