Govt. Polytechnic Institute Haripur was established in 1968-1969 on 240 kanal of land. It was founded by late Field Marshal and ex-President of Pakistan Muhammad Ayub Khan. The institute offers diploma programs in civil, electrical, mechanical, telecom, and electronics technologies, as well as short courses. It has a total of 102 teaching and non-teaching staff positions. The institute aims to provide quality technical education to eliminate poverty. It currently has around 1500 students and needs equipment upgrades, modern computers, and building repairs. The principal is taking steps like civil works, establishing an advanced electronics lab, and launching a website to further develop the institute.

- 41. OBJECTIVES To provide high quality Technical Education in different fields for post matric course. Orientation of attitude about Technology / Trade character building of students and to stimulate and infuse the scholarly quantities and professionalism. To provide quality Technicians to eliminate poverty. Industry largely depends on Associate Engineer for production, efficient maintenance, and back-up support. An Associate Engineer can translate scientific knowledge for improved productivity.

JOB OPPERTUNITIES FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS after graduation from this institute students can either continue further Engineering Studies (B.E., B.Tech) or get employment as Supervisors, Foremen, Sales Engineers, Shift Engineers, Sub-Engineers, Senior Draftsman, Service Station Managers, Auto Engineers, Chemical or Gas Plant Operators, Farm Managers, Junior Instructors, Workshop Superintendents etc.
