The Center for Sustainable Drylands Ecosystems and Societies (CSDES) is a partnership between the University of Nairobi (UoN) and Colorado State University (CSU) that is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through Higher Education for Development (HED) initiative. It was established at the College of Agriculture & Veterinary Sciences (CAVS), UoN in June 2011 as a hub of a web of collaborative institutions engaged in education, research and action supporting dryland communities so that they can adapt to the many changes affecting their sustainability.
