Thomas A. Buchanan, M.D., is Professor of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Physiology and Biophysics; Associate Dean for Clinical Research; and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes in the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. He built and directed one of the nation鈥檚 largest General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) programs. Since 2010, he has been director and principal investigator of USC鈥檚 new Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute (SC CTSI).
