In this project, I observed meetings of the Faculty Senate and Undergraduate Student Senate at BGSU to analyze the university's governance structures. I found that while there is a formal shared governance system, decision-making power is still concentrated at the top administrative level. However, stakeholder input from the bottom-up is still incorporated through unified consensus decisions.
I also made recommendations to improve shared governance by involving more stakeholders through smaller, issue-specific governance bodies.
