Section 1 provides a theoretical understanding of cognitive authority in health contexts through a systematic review of research literature. Section 2 describes four empirical studies among youth, including interviews and questionnaires examining young people's perspectives on cognitive authority in formal and leisure environments like social media. The studies analyzed discourse, content, and data produced by the youth subjects to understand how cognitive authority is constructed and negotiated in different contexts.
