Mansbridge failed as in civil service and left by the time he was 20. Albert became a lay-reader in the church and then a Sunday school teacher.He thought that Co-operatives were an expression of Christianity in trade.
In 1900 Albert married Frances Pringle1901 son Thomas John Mansbridge was born
The WEAMansbridge sees the need for adult educational organizations that the consumers of the education mush themselves take an effective part in its provisionWanted to form an alliance between Co-operatives and university extension lecturesLaunched Association to Promote the Higher Education of Working Men
1905 changed the name of the Association to Promote the Higher Education of Working Men to Workers Educational Association1913 Mansbridge visited Australia and helps start WEAs in each state. New Zealand and Canada gain interest in WEA
Mansbridge is incapacitated by cerebo-spinal meningitis and is forced to resign from his office in the WEAHe was awarded honorary degrees by Oxford, Manchester and Cambridge
Mansbridge helped found the World Association for Adult Education (known as International Council for Adult Education today)1916 he helped form the Central Library for Students.Helped with the creation of the College of the Sea and Seafarers Education Service
Albert died at Torquay in 1952
