Uygar is a civil society activist, environmental scientist, and social entrepreneur living in an intentional community on a mountain range flanking ancient Asia Minor. He lives in a carbon zero house, producing all the energy off-the-grid, harvesting all the water he needs from rain.In the past, he was the advisor of the Minister of State responsible for the Environment in 1989-90, received MSc degree in Environmental Science at Ohio State University as a Fulbright Scholar, a PhD as a MacArthur Scholar in Conservation Biology as well as in Development and Social Change at the University of Minnesota.
