A Baton Rouge, La native and graduate of Southern University A&M College, Winter D. McCray is a dancer, choreographer, and founder of Winter D. Dance & Co., LLC. Finding her passion for dance at age nine and studying dance under Germaine Gordon, she continued to fine tune her craft while a student at Baton Rouge High School under the direction of Sharon Matthews (co-founder of the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre). Winter has spent virtually her entire life as a practitioner and instructor of the art form. Winter鈥檚 career as a teaching artist began in 2005 working with BREC as a dance instructor (where she currently has over 200 students ages 3-17 years) teaching ballet, jazz, and hip hop. Sh
