I started in the fire service as a volunteer while still in High School. After vocational school, I discovered that a full-time fire service career was more rewarding and became a member of the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District in 1979, which merged with Reno in 2000. I found a new passion, taking training, participating in a variety of special projects, and gradually advancing through the ranks to Chief Officer. I have had the privilege of being an EMS Coordinator and Instructor, a member of the Regional Hazardous Materials Team (23 yrs), the Technical Rescue and Water Rescue Teams at TMFPD and Reno.
