I worked with Andreas for nearly five months while he served as an intern with the Corporate Affairs Department at Zambian Breweries PLC, a subsidiary of SABMiller PLC. Right from the onset of Andreas internship he showed willingness to be an active member of the team. During meetings he took initiative and was a valuable contributor, which led to him, being assigned tasks with significant responsibility. Andreas was a key creative contributor to several projects executed during his time with us including the following: He was given the role of executive producer for six live TV show discussions on responsible drinking. He was exposed to the production of live talk shows, commercials, videos and promotions. Andreas organized our SABMiller Corporate Affairs Directors Forum, a conference with Directors from 13 different countries. His individual role included independently organising a programme of events for the conference members and this turned out to be a great success. Assisting with the organisation of Zambia Breweries participation in famous annual traditional event called the Ncwala ceremony where Zambian Breweries was the official beverage sponsor. Other responsibilities included tracking all incoming submissions, scheduling my meetings and my colleagues, phone/administration duties, attending Corporate Affairs and Marketing meetings, welcoming guests, and organising press statements. During the internship, I thought Andreas initiative, hard work, and ability to work well in a group environment was impressive. His adept ability to address and resolve complaints, and diffusing potentially volatile situations made him a vital part of the team. His enthusiasm and dedication were crucial to achieving our departmental goals. Overall, I feel Andreas would make an excellent member of any team.
