I was born in a nice village called Purakair, 12 miles north from the Centre of Dhaka city, in the Dhaka Mymensing Rd. In the early sixtees the village was renamed Azampur, after Azam Khan, very popular the then Governor of East Pakistan. Now the village Azampur is the heart of Uttara, a poshe shuburb of the capital Dhaka city.
I studied in Azampur Primary School & Nawab Habibullah Model High School, both in our own village, (now in Uttara town). Then I attended Quaid e Azam College (now Shohrawardy College), Luxmibazar, Dhaka for my I. Sc.
Then I joined Sylhet Medical College, passed MBBS in 1977, completed my internship, worked as Lecturer of Physiology for about 5 yrs, and also
