1) The document describes Michael Kim's experiences during a trip to Qingyuan, China, where he participated in various outdoor activities including biking, rock climbing, catapult building, first aid training, camping, and caving.
2) Rock climbing was the hardest activity, but Michael was able to climb over 2 meters. Caving was the dirtiest experience where Michael almost lost his shoes in sticky mud.
3) Other experiences included visiting a historic family home, teaching elementary school students, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area compared to Shenzhen.
4) Overall, Michael enjoyed the trip and freedom from his parents, but disliked the bugs and caving experience. He was
4. Biking!Biking wasn’t hard except for the bumpy roads that gives you painful butt massages. Let’s ignore this and go in to the pleasantries; nature. This place! I really couldn’t concentrate on biking after I got a taste of the nature in Qingyuan, it was nothing like Shenzhen! It was as if I was not in China! Hence the bugs OMG. Even the people there were really kind hearted people. Compare them with people in Shenzhen. Ugh. Shenzhen people can go to mars or something. Nonetheless my group made it back in time albeit a little faster than the schedule so we got some more free time.
5. Rock climbing was the HARDEST activity I did. Walking few kilometers and tada! Standing infront of me was a huge mass of rock that I was supposed to climb along with my teammates. I’ll tell you that was not fun. But atleast I got a little bit successful because I climbed over 2 meters which was impossible for me before.Rock Climbing
6. CatapultThe easiest activity that required the less movement! I got to learn how to tie ropes which was a huge accomplishment until than. Me and my group had to make the defense machine out of bamboo, strings and a bucket for throwing water balloons. In my thought, my group did the best. Best part was throwing the water balloons at the girl who volunteered to be the targets FOREVER.
7. FIRST AIDAnother activity that required little movement but lots of instructions. It was about different types of medicine and their usages, helping someone and identifying the cause of injury. I actually learned something really important because if I had a first aid with me I would’ve applied anything on someone who was injured badly without any knowledges.
8. CampingCamp was located at the place where First Aid was taught. I really couldn’t see the point of camping if I had to walk a few kilometers and go back to the hotel the next day. I was ATTACKED by MOSQUITOES in the tent. After I woke up in the morning, they were as FAT as pigs which explained why they stopped attacking. I forgot. Jungwoo was screaming which was so hilarious that made the neighboring girls laugh.
9. CAVINGThe last activity I did was caving and it was the most DIRTIEST experience I did. First off, I was greeted by sticky mud in the entrance of the cave and I almost lost my shoes. Luckily the mud wasn’t as spread as I thought so I was safe. I didn’t see any bats which was a massive disappointment since the priority of caving is bats. My group(Jong Hyeok, Jong Chan, Bumsoo) were the first to get out of the cave and man I was proud. But never talk about caves in front of me.
10. Pan family house We had to visit a family who lived in the same house since their ancestors. We had to look around the house but mostly, it was about drawing soundscape. The house was set high up where I could listen and look at things. Even there, the environment was BEAUTIFUL. Trees, not too much vehicles, clear clouds etc. All the sounds I listened to were actually nature which was really beautiful compared to the sounds in Shenzhen.
11. The most impossible task that happened in my whole life; teaching little kids. Much to the pleasure of the teachers, I SERIOUSLY know how teachers feel when they teach us and I’m so sorry TOT. The school seemed to be old fashioned because it looked like the kids in the first class are the smartest while the kids in the eighth class are not. Because my game group (Brian, Sean, Chantelle, Bumsoo, Jamison) took care of the first class, and my teaching group(Madyson, Jennifer, Sean, Brian, Chris, Roy, Vaneson) had the 3rd class, I can really prove to you why I think that but it’s a long story. The kids were also very curious of everybody and it was also very interesting to see them follow me everywhere I went so I had to sacrifice my watch for a few minutes.School SERVICE!~!~
12. CONCLUSIONOverall, the trip was a satisfactory and I enjoyed it. It was also really good to be away from my parents and experience 100% freedom. But just like the book Lord of the Flies, things were getting a bit out of hand and I’m really grateful the trip ended at Thursday. To be honest I HATED caving but I really hoped caving was on Wednesday so I wouldn’t have showered twice. Mostly I loved the nature so I’ll just let whoever arranged this off the hook-_- except! BUGS are always part of nature and they tend to get on you…easily.
