I was born in a Syed family settled in India since 11th century.
I went to Rosary Convent High School from 1951 to 54 and then All Saints High School. Graduated with Higher Secondary diploma in 1965.
I completed five-year engineering program in the first batch of Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College, Osmania University in 1970/71 majoring in Civil. I was honoured with Mohammed Fakhruddin Memorial Gold Medal in Structural Engineering.
After working in Public Work Department in Roads & Buildings in Errum Manzil (1971 to 1972) I designed bridges on National Highways 7 and 9. I did not like stalemated office atmosphere.
