Prof. Szuster-Ciesielska鈥檚 research focuses on alcoholic liver disease (ALD) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Particularly, she is interested in immune response in the course of steatohepatitis and liver fibrosis in order to identify new diagnostic markers as well as new targets for therapy. She uses a translational approach that includes pharmacology studies, epidemiological data, studies with human samples, and experimental in vitro models of ALD and NAFLD.
