Born to a single father family with a heavily disabled brother, Ai grew up with many challenged kids. Until she became 16 years old, her academic performance was low, then she began studying on her own and entered a university and then to a graduate school in U.S..
When became a lecturer at 7 universities in Kansai area, Japan, she found herself very sick. After battling 7 years of CFS/FM, she decided to have a family, which was her long lost dream. Upon her son's arrival, she got recovered, and she began to walk with her baby son on a stroller and eventually started running with a running stroller. That was when she started Baby Run, the first stroller exercise program in Japan.
