He studied physics, graduated from University of Athens, Greece (B.S.) and from Columbia University New York (Ph. D). His studies were funded by Greek Government Fellowship Foundation, by Greek Atomic Energy Commission, by Columbia University with President's Fellowship and by Air Force Cambridge with Research Assistantship. He founded and directed the Plasma Physics Laboratory of NCSR "DEMOKRITOS". He served as a professor at the University of Patra.
