S. Alex Ruthmann is Associate Professor of Music Education and Music Technology in the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions at NYU Steinhardt in New York City. He currently leads the NYU Music Experience Design Lab (MusEDLab) which focuses on the design of new technologies and experiences for music making, learning and engagement with community and industry partners. His current research explores new media musicianship and creativity and the development of technologies for music learning, teaching and engagement for use in schools and community-based interdisciplinary arts+computing programs.
