8. Japanese Theater
The Japanese have two main forms of
Japanese theaters--- The Noh and the
Kabuki.
A secondary form is a puppet show
called Bunrako.
9. Noh Plays
The oldest surviving form of Japanese
theater, originated during the 1300s
Combine music, dancing, and acting to
communicate religious themes.
The play has almost no plot and unfolds
without much action.
During the intermission other actors
perform short comical skits known as
kyogen

-The actors are wearing traditional masks
and elaborate costumes.
-All the actors are men.
- It is played by a main actor or shite,

- One actor plays the part of God or hero

groups perform three times in an evening.

- Kabuki plots are usually based on
