Editor's Notes

  • #2: What are the best practices? How do we implement these practices? Who should come to the table? Which parties should have skin in the game?
  • #3: Our team are glad you are listening to our story Panda Leather back Bengal Tiger, Rhino For you see they are Not sure they will be on this planet much longer. You can do something, just by listening. We wanted to create an original game that would engage social change and awareness
  • #4: Here is our Introduction
  • #5: We stated Amerikids to celebrate young people. Our first game was Pony Express Rider. I had seen interdisiplianry teams work in action. This is what skills college students were going to need to master.
  • #6: Our aim now is to Teach the Life Sciences to 3rd through 8th graders. If young people saw the problem of conservation through the eyes of the animals they’ll be more committed to change and making a difference in their own life professions.
  • #7: We have created 2 3D humans that are natives form what every country you choose. So in north American they are native Americans and in china they magically become native Chinese.
  • #8: Learn what Habitat Destruction is and how you can reverse in with your magic badge. IN saving pandas you take your magical badge an replace the rice paddies with bamboo fields . Learn by play what is bio- diversity How it feels to solve the problem of ending bio –diversity and habitat reconstruction.
  • #9: We are attempting to make learning fun and thus knowledge that will be retained.
  • #10: We selected the cutest of the species for our game which are endangered on each continent. Because cute counts for us to care and once we care then we change , we learn and we become active and hopeful. Some you may recognize. Like the panda and the Bengal tiger some you may have seen but do not know, like the golden tamarin, California condor, and some may not be know to you.
  • #11: For Millennials they feel strongly about this issue because it is a global problem they have inherited from us. They see it as a match to their generation who see globally see diversity and see cultural issues as their generations window to the world They believe in the power of games and social media combined can affect environmental change.
  • #12: This generation is seeking purpose drive work and impactful science . They want to experience a fusion of real world and academia. They want to work interdisciplinary learning how each other works in team to create . They enjoy the challenge of learning complex technologies. They love the idea of mixing gaming and education.
  • #13: What practices make this work
  • #14: They see the professors passion for the subjec.t You need a relentless pursuit if an objective to work as an entrepreneur. They see that spirit of not giving up. They see pride in their team work They see the creativity of team work is learner than its parts. They develop a curiosity to see how far this can go. They become courageous in believing that it can be done.
  • #15: Our Team is from numerous countries. This is an issue in very country on every continent. This mix of faculty disciplines and students disciplines gives them an experience they would not get in classwork . Colleges have problem of Inter-disciplinary Team work A compelling methodology for this generation and future generations
  • #16: Here is an extra spiff. We get our demo done in Mandarin.
  • #17: The student gets to test new technology on real world problems

  • #21: We have done outreach in NYS And NYC . We have presented at Game conference and reached out to other state supported Regional partners who interface between academia and the business community, such as Mass Digi , NYC Media Lab and Glass Lab.
  • #22: I suggest that the Universities not only see themselves as incubators but also as accelerators. The university should offer the student and the faculty robust solution to the entrepreneurial problem of development and pivots. The business world is looking t to the university and to this generation for new business. Tech companies are supported by college students and the university can foster that synergy because they are at universities.
