Analysis of Learner and Main Objective

 Main Objective
 SS.O.3.5.6
 Student will be able to research the lives of famous
Americans, customs and traditions using various forms
of literature (e.g., presidents, inventors, explorers, civil
rights leaders, artists, writers).
Lesson Plans for the Week
 Monday - Students will be split into groups of five and
will be given a president to research on this website.
We will use the SMARTBoard to compare and contrast
each groups president.
 Tuesday - Language Arts - We will read the childrens
book So You Want to be President? Students will
write stories about what they would do if they were
president using Microsoft Word.
 Wednesday - Math - students will use the SMARTBoard
to make a bar graph of all the different pets each
president had and how many of each. They can use this
website to find the information.
Lesson Plans for the Week (cont.)
 Thursday - History - Students will get back into their
groups from Monday and will create campaign posters
for their president using the facts they found on the
internet. They can create their campaigns using the
iPad. They will also create a presidential commercial
using Flip cameras.
 Friday - Science - We will view the Constitution and the
Declaration of Independence. Students will learn to
make their own paper by recycling old newspapers. We
will then create a classroom constitution to hang in the
room.
Materials Needed
 Computer (Internet)
 SMARTBoard
 Microsoft Word
 iPads
 Flip cameras
 Blender, old newspapers, warm water, liquid
starch, cookie sheets, and mold to form paper
