I develop business opportunities in the emerging world of smart local energy systems - enabling integration of intermittent, local generation capacity; managing demand-reduction and demand-shifting across aggregated user groups; and reducing costs and reliance on carbon and capital intensive centralised generating supply. The work has been underpinned by an appreciation of the value of data and has been divided between innovation (developing a data model / proof of concept for a smart grid services platform) and practical service delivery - working with organisations to implement low carbon, cost reduction projects.
