This document covers several topics related to visual communication including creating widescreen presentations, using graphics and pictures, and expressing color. It discusses setting up slide size and aspect ratio for widescreen, common widescreen resolutions, and includes examples of charts and graphs as well as poetry about feeling blue and the color expression. It also references bonus material about a lecturer.

14. Creating 16:9 Presentations
Important: Always start with your slide size
set to the aspect ratio you intend to use. If
you change the slide size after youve created
some slides, your pictures and other graphics
will be resized. This could potentially distort
their appearance.
To setup a widescreen
presentation, do one of the
following:
Start with this template.
Simply delete the example
slides and add your own
content.
Or, on the Themes tab, under
Page Setup, click 際際滷 Size,
and then click Widescreen
(16:9). (Note: we also support
16:10, which is a common
widescreen laptop resolution.
)
15. Animals In Protest
To present in true widescreen,
youll need a computer and,
optionally, a projector or flat panel
that can output widescreen
resolutions.
Common computer widescreen
resolutions are 1280 x 800 and
1440 x 900. (These are 16:10
aspect ratio, but will work well with
16:9 projectors and screens.)
Standard high definition televisions
resolutions are1280 x 720 and
1920 x 1080.
Use the Test Pattern on the next
slide to verify your slide show
settings.
17. Mix me blue like the ancients did,
Silica, lime, copper and alkali,
Colour my walls with blue because
I feel blue,
Are you sad?, you ask, Not at all, I
reply,
I feel like the sky so pretty after a storm,
The sky, with dead stars glittering all over
my body,
I feel blue,
Like the ocean you would swim in even
after many drowned before you,
I feel like a warm, calm flame ready to
scorch,
But I will not, I will not harm you,
Youd sing the blues and waddle knee
deep through the sea,
You look up and see the blue morning sky
as peace sinks into you,
Trust me, I whisper, trust me just like
how you trust blue,
It is divinity, some say!
It may protect you from evil, some say!
I feel blue. I am the quiet rage.
