Anthropologist, with twenty years research experience in ethnic and migration studies. I have worked with the University of Florence and other universities and with many institutions and study centres, teaching and conducting quantitative and qualitative research on migration policies, multiculture, inter-ethnic relationships, community and belonging, and processes of social change. I created and managed (together with other scholars) a research centre on immigration (Research and Services Centre for Immigration of the Municipality of Prato, operating from 1994 to 2006) and was the first scholar to publish a book on Chinese diaspora in Italy (based on fieldwork in Italy and China).
