- 2. NARRATOR We are in Verona, in the north of Italy. Once upon a time, there were two rich families who also were enemies: the Capuleto and the Montesco. At Juliet Capuletos house
- 3. JULIET Im so sad! I love Romeo Montesco and I know my father wont like him at all! What can I do?
- 4. NARRATOR Her old servant promised to help her
- 5. OLD SERVANT Dont cry, my lady. I think there is a way in which you and your beloved can stay together
- 6. NARRATOR The two lovers met under the moonlight. They held their hands and embraced each other.
- 7. ROMEO Oh, Juliet! Ill always love you!
- 8. JULIET Me too, Romeo. I want to be with you all my life.
- 9. NARRATOR But Juliets father saw everything and he called Paris, his friend.
- 10. FATHER Listen to me, Paris, my friend. I want you to marry my daughter Juliet.
- 11. PARIS Im so pleased to hear that, old friend!
- 12. NARRATOR Some young servants heard the news and told Romeo and Juliet about them.
- 13. YOUNG SERVANT 1 Hurry up and do something! Juliets father wants Paris to marry her!
- 14. YOUNG SERVANT 2 What?? Paris is going to marry Juliet?
- 15. NARRATOR Meanwhile, Juliet was at her window, waiting for Romeo.
- 16. JULIET Its almost midnight. I hope he isnt late!
- 17. NARRATOR Romeo climbed very quickly and entered through the window.

- 19. ROMEO Yes, and I have something to propose you. Would you marry me tomorrow?
- 20. NARRATOR The old servant, who was spying, listened to everything.
- 21. ROMEO Well run away together.
- 22. JULIET Of course, I will!
- 23. ROMEO It must be a secret, you know..
- 24. NARRATOR Juliet was living the happiest moment in her life.
- 25. JULIET I cant wait until tomorrow comes!!
- 26. ROMEO See you tomorrow at midnight in your garden. Ill call brother Thomas to celebrate it.

- 33. NARRATOR Romeo said goodbye to the three friendly young servants.

- 36. FATHER Im so angry with you, Juliet!
- 37. JULIET What have I done wrong, father?
- 38. FATHER Youve kissed a Montesco! I cant allow it in my life!
- 39. JULIET But we love each other.
- 40. FATHER No way! You are marrying Paris!!
- 41. NARRATOR Juliet couldnt stop crying.
- 42. JULIET Oh, no!! How will I run away? My father knows I love Romeo!
- 43. OLD SERVANT Your snack is ready, my lady.
- 44. JULIET Thanks! I think I still keep that poison I found at my fathers drawer. The only thing I want is pour some drops in my chocolate. Give me some of that chocolate, please.
- 45. YOUNG SERVANT Be ready. Romeo will arrive soon.
- 46. ROMEO Hello, my love! Wake up! Lets go!
- 48. ROMEO Oh!!! Shes dead!! Shes killed herself. Ill drink, too.
- 49. YOUNG SERVANT Oh, no!! Now Romeo is dead, too!!
- 50. NARRATOR Juliets mother came into her bedroom.
- 51. MOTHER Whats happened to my daughter?
- 52. YOUNG SERVANT We dont know. She ate the chocolate of her snack.
- 53. YOUNG SERVANT We think it was poisoned because Romeo drank, too.
- 54. MOTHER You knew they loved each other! You forbade their love.
- 55. FATHER But I didnt think she would kill herself! Ill always feel guilty of these deaths!
- 56. NARRATOR At least, they are together and nobody will separate them in death.
