Zero felt it had no value and was sad. At a meeting of all the numbers, the mathematician could not begin until Zero was found hiding in a cupboard. The mathematician had number One stand in front and asked the others its value, to which they all responded "ONE". This demonstrated to Zero that it has value by representing nothing, without which we could not represent greater numbers or concepts like space and time.

Today Im going to tell you a story entitled The Value Of Zero. One day, all the numbers in the world attended a meeting organised by a mathematician. However, the mathematician could not begin the meeting because Zero was missing. After a long search, someone found Zero hiding in a cupboard. The mathematician asked Zero, Why are you hiding ? I am sad...I am sad..... I have no value. No one needs me, said Zero sadly. The mathematician thought for a moment and then said, One, please step in front of the room. Then he asked the participants to name the value. Everyone said, ONE!
