D. Balakrishnan BSc MBBS, DLO, MS, PhD is an ENT surgeon. He obtained BSc Botany (university I rank) in 1971. His had his entire medical education in Madras Medical College. His PhD is on Obstructive Sleep Apnoea in children. He became a teacher in his alma mater and continued teaching in various medical colleges. For 6 years, he served as an ENT specialist in Libya and Saudi Arabia. In 1980, as a Senior Research Fellow with ICMR, he took part in a countrywide survey on prevalence & aetiology of hearing loss.
