Eric Beerkens is senior advisor for international affairs at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Eric is also member of the editorial board of the Journal of Studies in International Education and a member of the EAIE Knowledge Development Task Force.
Eric was a research associate at the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) in the Netherlands from 1998 - 2005. From 2005-2008 he held a Sesqui fellowship at the University of Sydney in Australia. After returning from Sydney, Eric became Head of Studies at NUFFIC from 2008 - 2010. Since October 2010 he works at Leiden University. Eric holds a PhD in Public Policy (cum laude) and an MA in Environmental Planning.
