The Clearguard Autorodder is a device that automatically rods out blocked process tapping points to ensure accurate process variable measurement. It consists of a custom designed "scraper" that is routinely stroked through the tapping point to clear blockages. This allows the use of inexpensive field instruments while eliminating risks from manual rodding. Plants benefit from improved measurement accuracy, reduced purge medium use, and increased efficiencies.

2. HISTORY Since the Industrial Revolution, measuring process variables such as Level, Flow, Pressure, Density and others has been critical to the efficient operation of the process plant. If you cannot measure accurately, you cannot run your plant efficiently. In applications where the process medium can plug or block a Process Tapping Point, confidence in measurement values from gauge, absolute and/or differential pressure transmitters is compromised.
3. CURRENT SOLUTIONS Increase flow of parasitic purge Manually rod out whilst live/online Install oversized / larger diameter tapping points Bypass, run blind or shutdown Change reliable contact field instrument to a fragile non contact instrument $$
4. WHY? Why invest millions of dollars on DCS hardware and software to monitor inaccurate process variables caused by partially blocked tapping points? Why use skilled tradesmen to perform the unsafe and risky procedure of manually drilling out a Blocked Tapping point? Why, install oversize Tapping Point isolation valves and nozzles, when your field instrument only requires lightweight units? Why use clean and expensive purge medium to flush/clean out tapping points? Why, treat the symptoms of plugged tapping points and not solve the problem? The Clearguard Autorodder eliminates blocked tapping points.
7. TODAY Designed and manufactured in Western Australia Operating in applications worldwide where the process temperatures reach 1400 属C (2552属F) and pressures of 100 BAR (1450psi)
12. Process connection sizes from 15mm (1/2) to 80mm (3) ANSI Class 150 up to 600 ASME B16.5 Screwed and flanged connections Stroke lengths of 50mm (2) to 900mm (36) Energized process packing Low, ambient and high temperature versions Hazardous service versions available Manufactured in a wide range of process compatible materials CONFIGURATIONS
13. A custom designed and built scraper is routinely stroked through the tapping point. By keeping the tapping point clear, purge medium flows can be reduced dramatically. The scraper is designed so that it does not affect the process variable being measured during operation. A pneumatic cylinder provides the motive force for the scraper. Can be fitted to most existing tapping points. Allows the use of trusted, accurate, inexpensive, rugged field instruments. Eliminates the risky manual rodding out procedure. Features multiple safety benefits. Requires no special training nor tools. THE REAL SOLUTION
14. Confidence in accurate process variable measurement is achieved. Your investment in sophisticated and costly DCS hardware/software is warranted. Standardization on field instruments can now be considered. Skilled technician man hours can be better utilized. Purge medium extraction is reduced, LESS IN = LESS OUT. Cost effective lightweight and compact tapping point isolation valves and manifolds can be used. Spurious unit outages and shutdowns due to plugged tapping points are now eliminated. Total plant efficiencies improved. BENEFITS
