Biblioteca va pune la dispozitie un fond de carte de 53.768 volume cu caracter enciclopedic,organizate pe domenii.
In anul 1948 se pun bazele Bibliotecii Ateneului.
Din 1977 Biblioteca s-a mutat in actualul sediu din str.Florilor nr.31
