Historical Background
The Bicol University Extension Service was once operated under the banner of the "social service station" of the Office of the President through the BU Public Affairs Office in 1970. Out -out-school activities of the students and the community extension services undertaken by the faculty and the administrative staff members were in the form of training programs, information campaign programs, information campaign program through publications, radio, agro-industrial exhibits, and staff support to various agencies.
In 1977, the Public Affairs Office was institutionalized into the Extension Service Center with five major areas specific to public information,
